How we met

Picture of How we met

💕 How I met him

In 2022, I had just returned to Kenya from Germany and while visiting family, I met him. He came across as confident, kind, respectful, and undeniably charming. 😅

I turned him down… several times. Yet somehow, between laughter echoing through Kenya’s bustling streets and landscape, and debating over which street food was best, he slowly won me over and I began to see just how genuine he was. His confidence never felt overbearing, his kindness and respect for me made it impossible not to be drawn to him.

What started as playful determination blossomed into friendship, and then into a love full of joy, warmth, and endless adventure. Every shared laugh, spontaneous detour, and quiet moment together felt like discovering a new piece of home and of each other.

Looking back, it’s amazing how a simple meeting turned into something extraordinary. Love, it seems, sometimes refuses to take “no” for an answer, and in our case, we are so grateful it didn’t. 😄

How I met her

Picture of How I met her

God sent the girl from Nabakolwe my way in 2022. Something in me shifted the moment I saw her. She had just returned to Kenya from Germany, and the day our paths crossed, everything around me seemed to quiet down. There was a peace in her presence, a strength in the way she carried herself, and a light in her eyes that stopped me in my tracks.

I approached her because something in me knew I had to.

She told me no — not once, but several times. 😅

But even in her “no,” I felt respect for her. And the truth is, I was already gone. I admired her. I was drawn to her. And I felt a pull I couldn’t ignore.

As we spent time together — walking through busy streets, laughing until our sides hurt, arguing playfully about street food — I saw layer after layer of who she truly was.

A woman of valor.

A woman with grace.

My family noticed how intentional I became around her. I grew more focused and protective. It was obvious — I cared about her deeply, and I wanted to make sure she felt safe, valued, and seen.

What started as interest grew into a friendship that meant more to me than I ever expected. And in the small moments — her smile, honesty, the way she listened and carried herself with quiet strength left me smitten!

I realized I didn’t just like her — I cared for her in a way that made me want to protect , stand and build something real with her. She brought out a part of me I didn’t even know existed— a softer side, a stronger purpose, a love that felt steady and sure.

Looking back, I’m grateful she didn’t say yes immediately. It gave me the chance to show her the truth of my intentions and to show up consistently. The girl from Nabakolwe became the woman I love with my whole heart — the woman I admire, the woman I choose, the woman I will always protect and cherish.

God sent her my way, and she has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.
